Strain Spotlight: Lemon Chem

Lemon Chem, sometimes called Lem Chem, is a high-potency hybrid with an intoxicating lemon aroma. The sweet and sour flavor plus balanced hybrid effects have made it a favorite among cannabis connoisseurs. If you want a strain that can give you the best of both worlds, Lemon Chem might be just the mix of indica and sativa you’ve been looking for. We had high hopes for this strain because of its impressive lineage, and it surpassed even our loftiest expectations.

Lemon Chem Origins

Lem Chem is a pretty even mix between Larry OG and Chemdog. This hit the genetic lottery by inheriting some of the best characteristics from each of its parents, which are both impressive in their own rights. If you’re familiar with either of the parent strains, you’ll understand how Lemon Chem came by the potency, aromas, and balanced effects that are making it so famous in the cannabis community.

Larry OG

Larry OG, also known as Lemon Larry, is responsible for the tart citrus notes in Lemon Chem. Lemon Larry hails from Orange County, where it was created by crossing SFV OG (or San Fernando Valley OG) and the legendary OG Kush. Most people report that Larry OG is a fairly balanced hybrid that leans slightly toward calming indica effects. In other words, they say it offers a relaxing experience without being debilitating, which makes it nice for getting things done with a pleasant body buzz.

Chemdog’s origin story isn’t as well-documented, but some say it comes from a mix between Nepalese and Thai landrace strains. We don’t care where it came from, we’re just happy it’s here. This bud is awesome, and some of the best cannabis strains in the world have borrowed the famous Chemdog genetics. It lends sharp, pungent, diesel aromas to all of its children, and is also known for being especially potent. It’s also a fairly balanced hybrid, but most say it leans slightly more to the energetic sativa side– customers report feeling a boost of cerebral energy and a heavy body at the same time.

Smell, Taste, and Appearance of Lemon Chem

Dense, conical Lemon Chem nuggets often display light orange hairs on a background of vibrant green. As soon as you open the bag for a closer look, you’ll be greeted with a complex smell that seems to fill the entire room. Spicy herbal notes and its namesake lemon aroma come on the strongest, but you’ll likely get a strong whiff of gasoline too. The taste is pleasant even after exhaling, but it will hit your lungs hard enough to tell you this strain is not to be taken lightly.

Lemon Chem Effects

Thanks to the combination of hybrids that created it, Lemon Chem offers extraordinarily balanced effects. Some people say it reminds them a little bit more of a sativa, while others call it a perfect mix. One thing that almost everyone can agree on is that this strain is a potent source leading some consumers to physical relaxation and mental clarity at the same time. A short session will leave you feeling uplifted and ready to take on the world, and the effects may continue to creep up on you for some time.
